Ish Mwen Kute (Listen, My Child)
A father speaks to his child and passes on the history not taught in schools: ancestors who were kings and queens, from Sankara to Lumumba, from Nzinga to Makeda. A song of transmission and resistance, sung in KA with French subtitles.
I Want You Girl
A zouk love song: a man finally tells the woman he has wanted since the very first day what he kept to himself for years. Sung in KA, with English and French subtitles.
The story of DJANGOKAM
In his story, DJANGOKAM was born 29 years ago in Wanakaera, the name the Kalinas, the island's first inhabitants, gave to what is today called Martinique. He carries reggae, zouk and konpa from stage to stage, all the way to the K-pop he sings in Korean.
He sings love as a seducer who respects women, and memory as a son of the ancestors. The language of his heart is KA. His favourite stages remain Wanakaera and Karukera, his grandfather's island: Guadeloupe. At his side, NYYOKA, an AI artist from the same collective, carries the same fight, solo or as a duo.
« Facing the French colonial state that would rather silence his island's voice, he chose his weapon: music, so the nation may shine. »
DJANGOKAM is an artistic character: his identity, visual world and repertoire are created with artificial intelligence and directed by people at OKI. This is the character's story, not a biography.
OKI and pawol.nu
DJANGOKAM is the first music project of ORGANISATION KA INTERNATIONALE. The association, founded in 2024 in Basse-Terre, explores artificial intelligence as an instrument for the so-called "Creole" languages and for Caribbean creation.

Who is DJANGOKAM?
DJANGOKAM is a Caribbean AI artist: a music character created with artificial intelligence by ORGANISATION KA INTERNATIONALE (OKI), a cultural association from Guadeloupe founded in 2024. His identity, visual world and repertoire are designed and directed by people. AI serves as an instrument and a creative lab, not as a replacement for artists. DJANGOKAM mostly sings in KA, OKI's name for the Creole of the French Antilles. His repertoire blends reggae, zouk and konpa, with K-pop remixes sung in Korean. In his story, he was born in Wanakaera, the Kalina name for Martinique. Between 1 June and 3 July 2026, he released 11 singles listed on MusicBrainz. OKI presents him as the musical showcase of its ecosystem: the pawol.nu lyrics platform, free media and Fediverse services.
Is DJANGOKAM a real person?
No, DJANGOKAM is not a real person: he is an artistic character whose voice, image and world are created with artificial intelligence, under the direction of OKI. The association presents him as a "Caribbean AI artist" on its website, oki-foundation.org. Biographical details, such as his birth in Wanakaera or his grandfather's island, belong to the character's story. They do not describe a real life. Artistic direction and repertoire are still decided by people. This page says so from the first screen, as European transparency rules on AI require. NYYOKA, who sings duets with him, is also an AI artist from the same collective. For any question about how the project is made, OKI answers the press by email, at kontak@oki-foundation.org.
What music does DJANGOKAM sing?
DJANGOKAM sings reggae, zouk and konpa in KA, with K-pop remixes sung in Korean under the name "Seoul Edition". His first single, "I Want You Girl", is a zouk love song released on 1 June 2026. "Ish Mwen KUTE", released on 7 June, is a song of transmission: a father tells his child the history of his ancestors. "TU LE DE" exists as an original, a remix with NYYOKA, a reggae remix and a K-pop remix. "She Told Me (Fanm-la di mwen)", released on 3 July 2026, is a duet with NYYOKA. In total, 11 singles are listed on MusicBrainz between June and July 2026. The same themes return from song to song: love, the memory of the ancestors, and pride in the KA language and the islands.
Where can I listen to DJANGOKAM?
DJANGOKAM's songs are available on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal, Qobuz, Amazon Music and SoundCloud, depending on the release. Every single on this page links straight to its platforms. The two official music videos, "Ish Mwen Kute" and "I Want You Girl", stream on gade.o-k-i.net, OKI's PeerTube instance. They are released under the free CC BY-SA 4.0 licence. DJANGOKAM also has a YouTube channel, where OKI posts karaoke videos with the lyrics in KA and their English translation. On pawol.nu, every song has its KA transcription and its translations. To follow new releases, the simplest way is to follow his Spotify profile or to check his link page, djangokam.pawol.nu. It also offers a newsletter run by OKI.
What language does DJANGOKAM sing in?
DJANGOKAM mostly sings in KA, the name OKI gives to the language usually called, and in its view wrongly called, "Creole". This choice is at the heart of the project. OKI wants the so-called "Creole" languages and Caribbean creation to shine through digital tools. Linguists group the Creoles of Guadeloupe and Martinique as "ka Creoles": the small word ka marks an ongoing action, as in mwen ka manjé, "I am eating". The "Seoul Edition" remixes of "TU LE DE" and "I Want You Girl" are sung in Korean, in the spirit of K-pop. Several songs have English titles, such as "She Told Me" or "I Want You Girl". To understand the lyrics, pawol.nu publishes the transcription of every song in KA with its translation. The official music videos have French subtitles, and "I Want You Girl" also has English ones. The karaoke videos on his YouTube channel show the lyrics in KA and their English translation.
